JICE conducted a tour of the Cup Noodles Museum Yokohama and Haneda Chronogate on Thursday, January 23, 2020 for 16 international students studying in Japan as JDS Fellows.

This tour aims to enhance non-academic experiences and encourage new ideas and broader perspectives during two years of their studying in Japan, and eventually have a positive effect on their daily research activities and work after returning each countries. JICE also hopes that touching on typical efforts of Japanese companies will lead to the formation of an expert on Japan.

At the Cup Noodles Museum Yokohama, JDS Fellows experienced making a chicken ramen and had a tour of the exhibits, they were impressed by long standing efforts and the spirit of challenge that Nissin Foods founder invented foods by using familiar ingredients which can change people's eating habits. At the next Haneda Chronogate, we observed the latest logistics facilities, JDS Fellows showed a keen interest in the Japanese technology evolved day by day, and satisfied their intellectual curiosity by asking questions to facility staff.

This tour was great opportunity not only JDS Fellows can bring innovative ideas and knowledge about Japanese companies back to their countries, but also provided an opportunity to deepen fellowship among JDS Fellow across nations and universities boundaries.

JICE will continue to work to arrange a wide variety of tours and seminars that are difficult to conduct only by JDS Fellows, and enhance the satisfaction and fulfillment of study abroad.
